Job Overview
The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy (CAP) in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia is expanding its teaching faculty to meet the needs of our growing educational programs. CAP is seeking an outstanding, energetic, and innovative educator to join our faculty. This is a full-time, non‑tenure track position at the rank of lecturer. This position will be in Athens, Georgia.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the faculty member include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs and being actively engaged in citizenship in the college. The faculty member will teach the equivalent of up to three 3‑credit‑hour courses per academic term, participate in the development of new course materials, and supervise teaching assistants. The position will interact with students, CAP faculty, faculty from other units in the College of Pharmacy, and staff.
In addition, there is a high level of autonomy.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, Pharm
D, MD/DO, DNP) for their respective field or a minimum of a master’s degree for health‑related fields such as physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nursing, or others. Those without a terminal degree required for the rank of Lecturer must document exceptional accomplishments in a discipline area related to the position’s responsibilities and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.
Must have excellent communication skills. Evidence of teaching excellence using active learning methods in small and large group settings is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to teach immunology, pathophysiology, or pharmacology. Being able to teach biomedical data literacy is also desirable.
