The College of Engineering’s Advancement and Community Development team is looking for Peer Mentors to assist with the Engineering Academic Boot Camp for the summer. Job duties will include welcoming and supervising the incoming campers; ensuring safety of campers and overseeing the camp’s program; setting a good example for the campers; and working with the Advancement and Community Development team to execute and assist with the camp.
WorkSchedule
Incumbents will be working 15-20 hrs/week during camp set up, and up to 40 hrs/week for 2 weeks only during the camp, from 07/10/26 – 07/24/26. Housing, meals, and parking are covered. Current students enrolling in 3 or more credit hours over the summer will not be eligible to hold a 40‑hour/week position.
Duties / Responsibilities- Supervise and engage with EABC Campers
- Organize and attend all programming for the camp
- Meet regularly with mentees during the camp and the semester
- Ensure the safety of all campers by following all UGA guidelines
- Work closely and communicate frequently with the Advancement and Community Development Team
- Currently enrolled as an Engineering or Computer Science undergraduate student at UGA
- Minimum 2.7 GPA
- Ability to host workshops and organize events
- Involved at UGA and within the College of Engineering
- Preference to candidates not enrolled in summer courses over the 2026 summer months, or enrolled in less than 3.0 credit hours overall
Housing, meals, and parking are covered during the camp.
Salary $16.00 per hour.
