This position is a critical role that will provide workplace safety, operational, computer‑related, and equipment training to 120+ employees in the Grounds Department. The incumbent will prepare training documents and lesson plans related to operational, workplace safety issues, equipment maintenance/preventative maintenance issues, and other related safety topics. The incumbent will log training documentation for all employees and conduct refresher courses as needed.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- At least 2 years teaching at high school, technical school, or an adult learning environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, or related field.
- Bilingual.
- Knowledge of and ability to use training methodology, time management skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate, present, and teach effectively in front of groups.
- Ability to operate audio‑visual equipment.
- Ability to develop teaching material utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Translator), Adobe Photoshop, etc.
- Knowledge of landscape and hardscape maintenance and operations.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and climb stairs during a normal workday.
- Read/communicate effectively.
- Driving required for job duties.

Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, confirmation of credentials and employment history, and a satisfactory credit check. Candidates may also be subject to a pre‑employment drug test for high‑risk responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct training classes as part of the Grounds Academy, individualized training curriculum, and/or refresher training for probationary and existing staff (30%).
- Prepare training documents/master lesson plans related to operational, workplace safety issues, equipment maintenance/preventative maintenance issues, and other related safety topics; use visual equipment and instructional media (20%).
- Data entry of training records in Word documents/spreadsheets and electronic systems (20%).
- Prepare monthly/annual training reports; coordinate and make changes to training curriculum; prepare/document training records of personnel (15%).
- Manage filing systems to include training records, training lesson plans, etc. (10%).
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor (5%).
