Temporary EABC Peer Leader/Mentor

Overview:
The College of Engineering’s Advancement and Community Development team is looking for Peer Mentors to assist with the Engineering Academic Boot Camp for the summer. The position will involve welcoming and supervising campers, ensuring their safety, organizing program activities, and collaborating closely with the Advancement and Community Development Team during camp setup and the two‑week camp from 7/10/26 to 7/24/26.

Incumbents will work 15‑20 hours per week during camp set up and up to 40 hours per week during the camp. Housing, meals, and parking are covered during the camp. Student applicants must not be enrolled in more than 3 credit hours over the summer; otherwise, they will not be eligible to work the full 40‑hour week.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage with EABC Campers
  • Organize and attend all programming for the camp
  • Meet regularly with mentees during the camp and the semester
  • Ensure the safety of all campers by following all UGA guidelines
  • Work closely and communicate frequently with the Advancement and Community Development Team
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Preference for candidates not enrolled in summer courses during the 2026 summer or enrolled in less than 3.0 credit hours overall.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Currently enrolled as an Engineering or Computer Science undergraduate student at UGA.
  • Minimum 2.7 GPA.
  • Ability to host workshops and organize events.
  • Involved at UGA and within the College of Engineering.
Physical Demands

Typical for classroom environment.
