About The College/Unit/Department

The Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia includes 32 full‑time faculty members and offers B.S.Ed., M.S., M.A.T., M.Ed., Ed.S., and Ph.D. degree programs. Areas of concentration include Special Education (Adapted, General, and Birth through Kindergarten), Communication Sciences and Disorders, American Sign Language, and Applied Behavior Analysis. The Department is highly interdisciplinary, fostering collaboration across programs and with partners throughout the university and community.

Faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research, teaching excellence, and professional service.
