Position Summary

The assistant teacher works with the other members of the teaching team to create a positive, productive, professional environment for the children within their classroom. The responsibilities are determined by the job description and needs of the classroom, as identified by the lead teacher and/or administrators.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in the classroom throughout all daily activities and interactions with children (70%).
  • Implementation of planned activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supervision (10%).
  • Daily assistance in food service to children and supervision during meal times (10%).
  • Daily assistance with diapering and/or toilet training while maintaining adequate supervision during bathroom times (10%).
