Overview
The Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) and Poultry Science (PS) at the University of Georgia (UGA) are recruiting for an Associate or Full Professor in Food Systems Innovation. The position is expected to be supported by an endowment and focuses on ingredients and food processing technologies related to meat and poultry products to enhance quality, processing efficiency, and value addition.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completed PhD in Food Science or a related field.
- Obtain extramural funds to support Research and Extension programs.
- Establish a strong record of scholarly activity and peer‑reviewed publications.
- Direct graduate (PhD and MS) students and postdoctoral associates.
- Develop an Extension program that complements existing FST and PS Extension initiatives and meets stakeholder needs.
- Actively participate in service activities in FST, PS, CAES, and UGA, including global programs.
- Collaborate with faculty across Colleges of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Family and Consumer Sciences, and other colleges to foster interdisciplinary research.
- Leading expertise in poultry and/or meat science, including ingredient functionality, formulation strategies, and processing technologies.
- A comprehensive, collaborative research focus that applies systems approaches to sustainability and profitability challenges.
- Proven track record of competitive, externally funded research and leadership of large multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and commodity groups to advance applied research, technology transfer, and workforce development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative networks for extension and research efforts.
