Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with child abuse prevention, home‑based services, parent education, nursing, child development, or related areas
  • Training in Healthy Families Model
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and active listening during home visits
  • Offer crisis counseling to families when appropriate
  • Educate families about nurturing caregiving skills and child/family development to promote quality parenting
  • Foster positive parent‑child interaction
  • Refer families to community resources and services
  • Assist families in obtaining preventive medical care for themselves and their children
  • Schedule and maintain at least weekly visits with each family
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect participating parents and children
  • Establish case plan with goals, objectives, and activities in collaboration with supervisor
  • Attend training sessions, supervisions, and in‑services as required
  • Notify supervisor of concerns regarding child abuse reports, missing visits, safety issues, etc.
  • Complete documentation per program policy and grant requirements
  • Participate in weekly and monthly staff meetings and special projects as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Positive parenting or previous experience in child abuse prevention, home‑based services, parent education, nursing, child development, and related areas
Physical Demands

Normal office environment conditions. Ability to stand for long periods to present program. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Effective speaking without amplification. Must drive.
