This posting is for an open-rank tenure-track/tenured faculty position within the CAES-Animal & Dairy Science department.

Position SummaryThe individual is expected to develop a comprehensive beef research and Extension program in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise, with emphasis on developing an internationally recognized Extension and research program. The faculty member is expected to supervise graduate students and interns.

To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.
Duties and Responsibilities- Extension — develop methods to improve the efficiency of beef production using forage and grain in Georgia, with research focus on fetal programming, calf health and weaning management, growing systems, and life cycle cow nutrition.
- Research — lead an independent research program that utilizes beef farms at Calhoun, J. Phil Campbell, Athens, and Eatonton; collaborate with faculty on the Tifton and Athens campuses; support bull and heifer evaluation programs in Calhoun and Tifton as needed.
- Service — contribute to service activities as appropriate to the role.
