Position SummaryThe individual is expected to develop a comprehensive beef research and Extension program in the successful candidate’s area(s) of expertise, but emphasis will be placed on the ability to develop an internationally recognized Extension and research program. This faculty member will be expected to supervise graduate students and interns.

To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.
Duties / Responsibilities- Extension (65%) – develop methods to improve the efficiency of beef production using both forage and grain in Georgia, aligning with research on areas such as fetal programming, calf health and weaning management, growing systems that emphasize efficiency of production, and life cycle cow nutrition.
- Research (30%) – lead an independent research program that utilizes the beef farms at Calhoun, J. Phil Campbell, Athens, and Eatonton, as well as collaborate with other faculty from the Tifton and Athens campuses. Will also be expected to support the bull and heifer evaluation programs in Calhoun, and Tifton as needed.
- Service (5%)
