Director of the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel
The University of Georgia invites applications for the Director of the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel (Georgia Center). The Director will provide overall leadership, manage the administrative, budgetary, and programmatic operations, and represent the Center within the university and to external stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Lead the administrative, budgetary, and overall operational responsibilities of the Georgia Center.
- Manage the operations of a 300,000 sq. ft. conference center with a hotel and two restaurants.
- Direct evaluation of services to guide business planning and drive business strategies that return on investment.
- Develop and mentor a workforce to achieve professional and personal growth.
- Engage with UGA’s public service mission and enhance the Center’s reputation as a top provider of continuing education services.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal UGA stakeholders and partner with other organizations to further the outreach mission.
- Develop applied research and scholarship in collaboration with faculty.
- A terminal degree in education, business, hospitality management, or a related field.
- A track record of executive level leadership managing a large staff and fiscal portfolio.
- Evidence of using data to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Successful fundraising experience.
- Extensive background in leading and managing the hospitality and operations of a conference center, hotel, and amenities.
- Prior role within a higher education setting is preferred.
- A deep understanding of the state of Georgia, its governmental structures, workforce, and communities.
- A demonstrated understanding of the land and sea-grant mission and the University’s role in public service and outreach.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and integrity in delivering continuing education and hospitality services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
