Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in geology, geophysics, Earth science, or a related field.
Position SummaryThe Department of Geology invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a focus on critical mineral resources, in particular Economic Geology or Geophysics. Candidates are expected to establish a funded research program with peer-reviewed publications, industry partnerships, and connections to governmental agencies. Teaching and advising at graduate (MS and PhD) and undergraduate (BS) levels are required.

- Economic Geology
:
Conduct research on formation, exploration, and production of critical minerals deposits; teach Economic Geology and Exploration Techniques; integrate field, laboratory, and modeling approaches. Access to core facilities and collections for collaboration and technology development. - Geophysics
:
Teach Geophysical Exploration Techniques and related classes; conduct research on development and application of geophysical techniques for critical mineral resources. Integration of field, laboratory, and modeling approaches is encouraged.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesThe candidate should have a strong record in ore deposit-related research linked to critical mineral resources. Geophysics candidates must demonstrate expertise in ore-deposit related geophysical exploration techniques.
