Position Summary: The individual is expected to develop a comprehensive beef research and Extension program in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise, with emphasis on developing an internationally recognized Extension and research program. This faculty member will supervise graduate students and interns.

To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

- Extension - Develop methods to improve the efficiency of beef production using both forage and grain in Georgia, including fetal programming, calf health and weaning management, growing systems for production efficiency, and life cycle cow nutrition.
- Research - Lead an independent research program that utilizes the beef farms at Calhoun, J. Phil Campbell, Athens, and Eatonton; collaborate with other faculty at Tifton and Athens campuses; support the bull and heifer evaluation programs in Calhoun and Tifton as needed.
- Service - Public service and engagement responsibilities as appropriate (percentages reflect time allocation below).
Time Allocation - 65% Extension and program development; 30% Research; 5% Service.
