Responsibilities- Position is tenure-track with outreach, instruction, research, and university/professional service expectations as part of a 9-month appointment.
- Establish interdisciplinary collaborations in outreach, teaching, and research with Warnell School faculty and across campus.
- Outreach responsibilities (30%): develop educational activities and programs addressing stakeholder needs (state/federal agencies, aquatic industry professionals, extension personnel) in Georgia and beyond; use diverse delivery strategies (face-to-face, online, video-based, podcasts) and provide individual technical assistance.
- Applied research responsibilities (30%): develop an externally funded program in Aquaculture and Aquatic Animal Health; provide consultation and technical assistance to stakeholders; interact with private landowners, industry professionals, and agencies; advise Extension professionals.
- Teaching duties (35%): advise undergraduate and graduate students and teach two courses per academic year (one in Aquaculture and one in area of expertise, e.g., aquatic/fish disease); contribute to the Warnell School’s online Master of Natural Resources degree (launching in 2026).
- Engage in professional service (5%), such as serving on School/University committees and participating in professional/scientific societies.
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. before August 2026 with emphasis on aquatic animal health, commercial aquaculture production, sustainable aquaculture systems, or a closely related discipline.
- Appointment to Associate Professor requires a record consistent with promotion, including evidence of external funding, research communication, and teaching excellence; 1–2 years of service at the Associate Professor level is preferred for this rank.
