TRIO Upward Bound Program Coordinator

Position within UGA's Office for Student Success. The Program Coordinator supports the implementation of the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math‑Science program objectives by coordinating academic, college preparatory, and enrichment services for eligible participants.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver standards‑based instructional curriculum.
  • Supervise and evaluate part‑time instructional and tutorial staff.
  • Administer and analyze diagnostic and achievement assessments.
  • Provide academic advising aligned with students’ Individualized Education Plans (Student Educational Plans/SEPs) in collaboration with secondary school counselors.
  • Recruit, select, and retain participants; monitor academic progress and address identified academic needs.
  • Support program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts; compile required documentation and data related to instructional services, participant outcomes, and federally mandated reporting requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage instructional program components for after‑school tutorial and summer residential programs.
  • Coordinate program documentation, submit monthly and annual reports on student retention and progress.
  • Devise and implement evaluation plans to assess effectiveness of services and instructional components.
  • Initiate selection of instructional and tutorial staff; coordinate training and supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of TRIO and Upward Bound policies and UGA procedures.
  • Participate in professional development, committees, presentations, and events. Assist with emerging work projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience motivating and supporting youth from low‑income, first‑generation families.
  • Track record of fostering positive engagement of program staff.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of economically and educationally disadvantaged youth.
  • Personal experience overcoming disadvantages similar to target population.
  • Knowledge of TRIO/Upward Bound programs and related university policies.
Physical and Operational Requirements
  • Some light lifting.
  • Required to drive.
  • Position of trust.
  • Required to interact with minors.
  • Access to sensitive personnel information.
Benefits and Salary

Advertised salary: $43,000+ commensurate with experience.

Full‑time, Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. with flexibility during peak program/summer hours.
