Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in aquatic animal health, commercial aquaculture production, sustainable aquaculture systems, or a closely related discipline, obtainable before August 2026.
Seek a dynamic faculty member to contribute to outreach, instruction, research, and service at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Responsibilities are divided among outreach (30%), applied research (30%), teaching (35%), and service (5%).
Responsibilities- Outreach (30%):
Develop educational activities and programs that address the needs of stakeholders such as state and federal agencies, industry professionals, and extension personnel. Use innovative delivery strategies—face‑to‑face, online, video, podcasts, and one‑on‑one consultations—to reach these groups. - Applied Research (30%):
Establish an externally funded, nationally/internationally recognized program in aquaculture and aquatic animal health. Provide consultation and technical assistance to stakeholders within the scope of the Warnell School mission. - Teaching (35%):
Advise undergraduate and graduate students and teach two courses per academic year—one in aquaculture and another in a related area (e.g., fish health). Contribute to the Warnell School’s online Master of Natural Resources degree. - Service (5%):
Serve on school or university committees and actively participate in professional and scientific societies.

- Demonstrated scholarship through peer‑reviewed publications and ability to secure extramural funding.
- Potential for outreach productivity and extension education.

- Integrating science and stakeholder values into the research program.
- Research impact at large spatial scales in industrial aquaculture.
