The Youth Development Professional plays a pivotal role in fostering the personal, social, and educational growth of young individuals within diverse community and educational settings. This position is dedicated to designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that empower youth to develop critical life skills, build self-confidence, and achieve academic and personal success. The role requires collaboration with educators, families, and community organizations to create supportive environments that address the unique needs and challenges faced by youth.
By utilizing evidence-based practices and culturally responsive approaches, the Youth Development Professional ensures that programs are inclusive, engaging, and impactful. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with youth in educational or community settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and implement youth development programs.
- Proficiency in maintaining documentation and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in youth development or related professional training.
- Experience with grant writing and program funding.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices.
- Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate youth programs that promote leadership, academic achievement, and social-emotional learning.
- Assess the needs and interests of youth participants to tailor activities and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with schools, families, and community partners to coordinate services and support systems.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to youth, fostering positive relationships and encouraging personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities and participant progress.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in youth development and education.
