The University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Meat Science Extension and Teaching. This is a nine-month, tenure track or tenured appointment with two months of summer salary guaranteed.
Major Responsibilities
:
- Develop and provide leadership for a relevant nationally/internationally recognized meat science Extension program.
- Interact with industry, county agents, and other scientists to develop a state-of-the-art information/technology transfer program for the meat industry.
- Teach undergraduate courses in meat science and a graduate course in the area of expertise.
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students and mentor students interested in industry work experiences/internships.
Minimum Qualifications
:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in animal science, meat science, or closely related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
:
- A proven record of excellence in meat science.
- Candidates with a proven record of carrying and publishing innovative research, securing extramural funding, and a background in intercollegiate meat judging are highly encouraged to apply.
