About the College/Unit/Department: The Young Scholars Program (YSP) is a paid six‑week summer internship program for high school students interested in agricultural, food, and environmental sciences. Selected students work 30 hours per week actively engaged in research under the guidance of a faculty mentor on the UGA Athens, Griffin or Tifton campus. During the program, students attend workshops and visit agricultural operations to gain exposure to the various fields of study and careers in agriculture.

  • Assist with the coordination of the Young Scholars Program. (65%)
  • Prepare and distribute documents to support program activities. (15%)
  • Assist administrative support personnel with clerical support. (15%)
  • Assist with writing, editing, or coordinating the preparation of reports. (5%)

Position Summary: This position will provide critical administrative support for the Young Scholars program during the summer of 2022. The person selected for the position will serve as the group facilitator and chaperone during all YSP related activities, including but not limited to: group workshops and training sessions, field trips to UGA Athens and other scientific research facilities, and final presentation sessions.
