Wayne County 4-H / Family and Consumer Sciences Agent

Position SummaryThis position will provide management and oversight of the County 4-H Program (75%) in cooperation with other staff members. Additionally, the role coordinates and delivers Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) educational program (25%) in the geographic area. The position requires frequent travel, night meetings, and weekend work.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in Human/Youth Development, Sociology, Education, Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Recreation, or related area
- Ability to speak to/teach large groups of residents
- Driving as needed to perform job duties
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to organize and carry out activities and programming for youth
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county, district, and state staff, local government employees, and clientele
- Develop a plan of work that meets the needs of the county’s varied socio-economic population
- Ensure Civil Rights/Equal Opportunity plan of UGA Cooperative Extension is followed
- Develop and conduct relevant interdisciplinary programs with other staff members based on critical issues
- Collaborate with other agencies and community groups to plan and implement programs
- Provides leadership for Program Assistants, volunteers, and teen leaders in delivering 4-H and FACS programming
- Utilize the expertise of and work closely with advisory groups, community leaders, public officials and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and assist in developing educational programs

CompensationSalary $40,409.00-$50,000.00
