The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia invites applications for multiple open‑rank, 9‑month tenured or tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The positions will begin on August 1, 2026 and have an opportunity to supplement salary during the summer. Successful candidates are expected to develop strong research programs in artificial intelligence for manufacturing, advanced automation and controls, robotic systems, systems engineering, intelligent design, electric mobility, and computational fluid dynamics.
The candidate will join the School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering (ECAM) and will be supervised by the ECAM School Chair.
- Develop a vigorous, externally funded research program in the specified areas.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to the college’s teaching mission.
- Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scientists.
- Collaborate with existing faculty across cross‑cutting units such as the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility, and others.
- Develop industry collaborations and pursue external partnerships.
- Support service obligations to the university and the broader community.
- Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated record of research and scholarly achievement appropriate to rank.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Evidence of collaboration and ability to integrate into interdisciplinary teams.
- For associate rank: prior tenure at another institution and national reputation.
