Clinical Care
- Provide age-appropriate primary medical care, perform physical assessments, and minor procedures.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, coordinate care and referrals.
- Document encounters concisely and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Serve in a consultative and clinical supervisory role for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants active in the clinics.
- Co-sign (assess care and decision making, ensure documentation, and offer feedback) entries in medical records by NP/PA staff.
Administrative Tasks and Meetings
- Communicate with and integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in process improvement and attend committees and staff meetings.
- Participate in research and educational efforts as warranted.
- Contribute to a culture of service excellence and opportunities for growth and leadership.
Professional Development And Education
- Obtain appropriate continuing education credits as required to maintain license and national certifications.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Maintenance of board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Dermatology.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
- Primary care clinical knowledge base; ability to apply evidence-based principles to practice.
- Comfort with behavioral, travel, and tropical medicine; minor procedural skills.
- Strong communication, empathy, cultural competency, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Requirements: Current BLS Certification or attainment within 180 days of start. Current DEA license.
Physical Demands: Standing, typing, walking, moving between areas, lifting, bending, and related activities as needed.
