Purpose of Job

The purpose of this job is to maintain all financial records and provide administrative support to the Juvenile Court. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing of payments, entry of dispositions into the computer system, and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Job Related Requirements

Work Schedule:

part-time, Monday‑Friday between 8am and 5pm. May be required to work on religious holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must work cooperatively with others. Vehicle operation responsibilities, if any, include safety, readiness, and adherence to ACC's safe driving policy.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent with one year of clerical, bookkeeping, administrative, or related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Duties
  • Assists with scheduling, documenting, and filing of cases.
  • Reviews cases to be scheduled for hearing and assigns dates; prepares and expedites notices of hearings.
  • Attends court as Officer of the Court; assists and coordinates matters for the court.
  • Compiles and prepares monthly reports indicating statistics on drug court cases filed in Superior Court.
  • Receives, records, files, verifies, and dockets all proceedings and pleadings for the court's criminal cases.
  • Records, verifies, and files sentences.
  • Prepares and transmits reports to Georgia Crime Information Center, Department of Juvenile Justice, and other agencies.
  • Prepares citations and other correspondence.
  • Assists in the compilation and preparation of financial reports, including the annual budgetary process.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with intake procedures for all drug court participants.
  • Schedules and coordinates court appearances of defendants for status conferences, orientation, and assessment.
  • Processes incoming mail, initiates and answers correspondence as necessary, types and files correspondence and all administrative documents.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Georgia law, government policies, court procedures, and Juvenile Court activities.
  • Knowledge of terminology used within the department.
  • Knowledge of financial data including cash reconciliation, invoices, budgetary information, and procedures.
  • Ability to compile, organize, prepare, and maintain records, reports, and information effectively and in accordance with regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, subordinates, other staff, and the public.
  • Ability to use independent judgment in routine and non‑routine situations.
  • Ability to perform required mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily assignments and work activities.
  • Ability to comprehend laws and apply regulations and procedures of the department.
  • Ability to operate computer applications and related office equipment.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend computer-based tasks in the county financial system.
Physical Requirements
  • Operates a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, fax machines, typewriters, and other office equipment.
  • Walks, stands, bends, stoops, pushes, pulls, lifts, graps, and repetitive motions. Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Physical demands consistent with sedentary work.
