Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator/ Undergraduate Program Administrator will support the department's communication efforts, provide administrative support to the undergraduate program, and assist in departmental programming. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing marketing, communications and fundraising materials; producing social media content; maintaining social media accounts; updating the departmental website; entering the teaching schedule for each semester; managing departmental records, spreadsheets and databases related to the undergraduate program;

maintaining a working knowledge of UGA's campus resources and relevant policies and procedures. Working with the department head, the associate head and the undergraduate coordinators, the Communications Coordinator/ Undergraduate Program Administrator must manage multiple priorities and projects and demonstrate creativity, flexibility, self-motivation, and strong problem solving for analysis and communication. The Communications Coordinator/ Undergraduate Program Administrator must demonstrate the ability to think creatively, analytically, and strategically, and have verified leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position will support the department's communication efforts, provide administrative support to the undergraduate program, and assist in departmental programming using various programs, including Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Drupal, and various social media platforms.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple competing projects in an organized, efficient manner by prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Substantially developed interpersonal and teamwork skills to successfully work with diverse groups in an academic environment. Demonstrated ability in both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and graphic design.
  • Software experience and expertise in:
    • MS Office Suite
    • Adobe
    • Social media
