Summary
University of Georgia, a Division I member of the Southeast Conference, is currently seeking applications for a graduate assistant to provide administrative support for the Academic Support unit. The appointment is for 13–20 hours per week and will last 10 months, beginning August 2026 and ending May 2027.
Responsibilities- Assists with daily operations related to academic support and related administrative tasks for the Director of Academic Support (20 % of time).
- Evening study hall coverage 1–2 nights a week (30 % of time).
- Works with a modest caseload of students on development of study skills, time management, and organization.
- Assists Learning Specialists with additional tasks as needed (5 % of time).
- Clerical duties, including but not limited to handling information requests, preparing, and sending correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Acceptance into a University of Georgia graduate program; ability to enroll in at least nine graduate‑level credit hours per semester.
- Ability to read and write business correspondence and to communicate proficiently with individuals within and outside the University by telephone and email.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; skills in organizing and coordinating meetings; and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database knowledge is highly recommended.
- Preferred candidates will have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Intercollegiate Athletics.
The employee will regularly stand, walk, use hands to feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally sit and talk or hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Driving as needed for job duties. The position requires driving.
