Position Summary: This position will provide critical administrative support for the Young Scholars program during the summer of 2022. The person selected will serve as the group facilitator and chaperone during all YSP related activities, including workshops, training sessions, field trips to UGA Athens and other scientific research facilities, and final presentation sessions. The individual will also be the direct contact for students, meeting with them weekly to monitor progress.

Responsibilities include coordinating workshops, handling travel arrangements, preparing and distributing documents to support program activities, and providing administrative and clerical support to the local YSP coordinator.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination of the Young Scholars Program (65%)
  • Prepare and distribute documents to support program activities (15%)
  • Assist administrative support personnel with clerical support
  • Assist with writing, editing, or coordinating the preparation of reports (5%)
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Working knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Organizational skills and ability to use discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Driving required
  • Direct interaction with children under 18
