Position Summary

The Grant Project Coordinator reports to the Digitization and Data Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating an NEH grant focused on increasing access to the civil rights series of the Richard

B. Russell Jr. Collection. The role encompasses preparing materials, enhancing descriptions, supervising digitization and redaction of personal information, and submitting files to the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG). The position funds 2–3 undergraduate students and 1–2 graduate students, all supervised by the coordinator. The assignment is a limited-term appointment expected to conclude on December 31 2026, with potential extension contingent on funding.

Responsibilities
  • Prep collections for digitization by providing metadata enhancement and records cleanup using Archives Space.
  • Manage the work of undergraduate and graduate scanning students through direction, evaluation, tracking, reporting, and quality control.
  • Prepare files for submission to the American Congress Digital Access Portal (ACDAP) and DLG, ensuring adherence to naming conventions and metadata requirements, and assist with ingesting digitized material into ARCHive.
  • Maintain flexibility and awareness of departmental changes by assuming additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred – Bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Archives Space, and imaging software such as Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to supervise and train student assistants; effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and independent work within assigned responsibilities.
  • Commitment to discretion and privacy of records; data gathering, compilation, and reporting abilities.
Physical Demands

Spending long periods at a computer and lifting and moving boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds each.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Employment Type

Full Time, Non-Exempt, 1.00 FTE.

Compensation

Advertised Salary $40,000 per year.
