The University of Georgia is seeking a Night Desk Assistant. The University of Georgia is the birthplace of public higher education in America and is the state's flagship university. It is currently ranked among the top 20 public universities in U.S. News & World Report.
University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants, and 565 undergraduate student workers.
Responsibilities- Follow appropriate community desk policies and procedures.
- Follow appropriate protocols in addressing incidents and potential policy violations.
- Provide exemplary customer service to all residents, guests, visitors, faculty, and staff.
- Function as a resource for accurate information concerning Housing and university operations.
- Support the community office staff by performing assigned administrative responsibilities accurately and efficiently.
- Support, communicate, enforce, and abide by all university and department policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist community office staff during a crisis or emergency, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Assist in the opening, closing, and transition of residence halls.
- Participate in all departmental and community training.
- Participate in all meeting activities including staff meetings, community staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
- Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.
- Must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis at the University of Georgia when classes are in session.
- Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
- May not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions.
- May not exceed 6 consecutive hours of work per shift.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 8 hours of desk shifts per week, including overnight shifts, weekends, academic breaks, and holidays.
- Required to work during some home football games as required by your assigned community.
