SummaryThe Floating Operator is responsible for operating and supporting multiple areas of production, including the B2B Welder, Strut Mill, and Shipping & Receiving. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment, product quality, and the smooth flow of materials throughout the production process. The Floating Operator plays a key role in maintaining flexibility and productivity across departments to meet production goals.
JobCore Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the B2B Welder and Strut Mill to maintain efficient production and product quality.
- Assist in Shipping & Receiving activities including loading/unloading materials, verifying orders, and staging products for shipment.
- Perform routine quality checks and measurements to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Support multiple departments and adjust to changing production priorities as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation including production logs, inspection forms, and inventory records.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety rules, and company policies always.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives to enhance efficiency and versatility.
- Overtime may be needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate multiple types of machinery.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Basic computer skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification a plus.
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in various production areas.
