- Collecting financial data and running SAP reports to prepare month‑end entries.
- Booking month‑end journal entries and ensuring accuracy in plant‑level financial records.
- Analyzing month‑end results and providing commentary to Corporate Accounting.
- Supporting plant managers by translating financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Managing cost accounting activities, including overhead and labor rate analysis.
- Researching and resolving issues related to invoices, payments, or other plant‑related financial questions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with relevant accounting coursework.
- Experience with costing and/or booking entries in a plant or manufacturing environment.
- Foundational bookkeeping experience, with the ability to ensure accuracy and correct errors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to collect and translate financial data into clear and actionable insights.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Steelcase will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.
- Experience in public accounting.
- CPA or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and explain variances.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or plant environment and partnering with operations.
- Ability to stay organized, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
