OBS Smoked & Distribution - Astoria, 305 Industry St, Astoria, OR 97103, USA. Ocean Beauty Seafoods is a large and well-known Seafood Distribution Company. Our Astoria distribution facility is looking for a full time Order Packer to pull, stage, and box fresh and frozen product in an accurate and timely manner coordinating the pack out with the fresh room and freezer staff according to customer requests and specifications.

We are looking for someone with experience handling and processing fresh and frozen meat or seafood. This is an important position with room to make decisions, work with plant and sales personnel, and be a strong member of the team. Some understanding of inventory control and production is desired, but not required. The role requires accuracy in recording product information, basic math skills, and communication with all employees.

Pay starting $21 to $23 per hour depending on experience.

• Properly pick and pack fresh and frozen orders accurately by customer specifications
• Properly label boxes with customer name, route number, weights, and contents in each box
• Weigh product and/or count pieces before packing and record weights/counts with 100% accuracy
• Receive incoming product and record weight, number of boxes, species, counts, each, size
• Understand safety and manufacturing practices in the handling of food products
• May involve driving/delivering our product

• Self-starter with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following written and verbal directions
• Good safety record and experience operating a pallet jack
