Job

Join our team at Coastal Family Health Center in Astoria, OR. We are a community health center with 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon, offering a wide range of services including medical, dental, pharmacy, nutrition, and behavioral health. We are committed to serving our communities and families through comprehensive care.

Position Highlights
  • Salary: $27.60-$33.81 DOE, with potential higher compensation for highly experienced candidates
What You’ll Do
  • Enter patient data in the system (name, insurance, allergies, doctor, diagnosis); process prescriptions by selecting brand, drug, and strength per prescriber instructions.
  • Fill or dispense products from pharmacy stock and deliver to patients.
  • Process prescription refills and verify availability.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders for restocking; verify quantities and submit orders to wholesalers.
  • Verify orders received with invoices and purchase orders; label items and shelve appropriately.
  • Check expiration dates, prepare expired stock for return to wholesaler, and process related credit invoices.
  • Return or discard unclaimed prescriptions after 30 days; enter reverse billing information in the system.
  • Complete third-party billing forms and obtain prior authorization when required.
  • Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of pharmacy setting experience is preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician license for states of practice, or active Pharmacy Intern License
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; ability to communicate effectively
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills; customer-oriented approach
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks (phones, filing, faxing, scanning, copying)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of one pharmacy software system and ability to learn new systems

This job will require a pre-employment drug screen after extending a conditional offer of employment.
