Pay- Hiring Range: $31.15/hr – $35.05/hr, based on qualifications.

Position SummaryWork as part of a tight–knit streets team operating all Street Department vehicles and heavy equipment for street repair, snow removal, and storm drain installation and maintenance.
SupervisionReports to the Streets Superintendent.
Essential Job Functions Winter Work- Plow and/or remove snow, widen streets, perform anti‑icing and de‑icing, and sand streets as necessary.
- Cut ice packs, sweep/flush streets, and operate pothole patching truck.
- Repair streets (remove and replace asphalt, crack sealing, AMZ patching). Sweep/flush streets, evaluate Pavement Management Program, paint crosswalks, and flag traffic.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles, perform pre‑trip inspections, fuel/ lubricate, and conduct minor repairs.
- Keep equipment clean and in good order.
- Maintain inventory, install, and repair street signs.
- Level III operators train other operators and oversee sign maintenance.
- Serve as crew leader under the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Ensure procedures for operators I and II are followed, assist with hiring and training, delegate tasks, and communicate policies.
- Provide training and resolve issues.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1–5 years as equipment operator.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook; basic computer literacy.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License (or obtainable within 30 days).
- Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.
- City‑paid initial CDL training within first 6 months. Additional training costs are the employee’s responsibility if necessary.
Any combination of experience and education that provides the required skills may be substituted.
Position requires compliance with drug and alcohol testing, physical exam, and criminal background check. Employment contingent upon passing these checks.
Physical Demands- Visual acuity, balancing, bending, carrying, crouching, climbing, hand/foot coordination, gripping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lb, pushing/pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, walking.
