Position DetailsJob Title: Downtown Services Technician
Department: Parks and Open Space

Season Dates: May 4, 2026 – Nov. 1, 2026
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
Position SummaryThis seasonal role focuses on maintaining the Downtown Aspen Mall, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Downtown Services Technicians perform essential custodial and maintenance tasks throughout the summer, working as part of a team that upholds high standards of care and contributes to the overall quality and presentation of the downtown area.
SupervisionPosition works under the direct supervision of the Downtown Services Field Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions Downtown Maintenance and Grounds- Maintains mall assets, including trash receptacles, benches, public bathrooms, and other public facilities.
- Performs waste and litter control throughout the mall and surrounding public spaces.
- Mows and maintains turf areas using push and walk‑behind mowers.
- Assists with irrigation maintenance, including system operation and troubleshooting as needed.
- Sweeps and scrubs sidewalks, cleans restrooms, and removes stickers, graffiti, or other debris from public assets.
- Works collaboratively as part of a team to ensure efficient operations and high‑quality service.
- Operates vehicles, including cars, trucks, and electric or gas‑powered work carts.
- Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order and reports any maintenance needs.
- Responds professionally to occasional interactions with the general public and directs inquiries to supervisors as needed.
- Follows proper safety protocols and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) responsibly.
- Assists with special projects, seasonal events, and other maintenance tasks as assigned.
