What you’ll be doingThe Payor Credentialing Specialist performs duties associated with credentialing, re‑credentialing, and privileging network providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Verify the credentials of healthcare providers, including education, training, licensure, and certifications.
- Communicate with delegated organizations to obtain necessary documentation and resolve any issues.
- Assist providers with licensing applications and renewals utilizing MD Staff Software
- Processes Facility and Provider initial applications and re‑applications (credentialing and recredentialing), including initial mailing, review, and loading.
- Develops and maintains recredentialing compliance database.
- Communicates with providers regarding credentialing status.
- Ensures that credentialing practices adhere to organizational standards and current industry trends.
- Assists with audits and provides feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance.
- High School or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent years of experience (in addition to requirement) may be substituted for degree.
- Strong organization skills. Detail oriented. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
- Able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare facility credentialing and physician credentialing.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
- Experience utilizing MD Staff Software
Compensation range for the Payor Credentialing Specialist role is $21.00 to $28.50 per hour. Ranges are based upon market expectations and are dependent upon candidate experience.
