What you’ll be doing

The Payor Credentialing Specialist performs duties associated with credentialing, re‑credentialing, and privileging network providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify the credentials of healthcare providers, including education, training, licensure, and certifications.
  • Communicate with delegated organizations to obtain necessary documentation and resolve any issues.
  • Assist providers with licensing applications and renewals utilizing MD Staff Software
  • Processes Facility and Provider initial applications and re‑applications (credentialing and recredentialing), including initial mailing, review, and loading.
  • Develops and maintains recredentialing compliance database.
  • Communicates with providers regarding credentialing status.
  • Ensures that credentialing practices adhere to organizational standards and current industry trends.
  • Assists with audits and provides feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance.
Must Haves
  • High School or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent years of experience (in addition to requirement) may be substituted for degree.
  • Strong organization skills. Detail oriented. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare facility credentialing and physician credentialing.
Bonus Qualities
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
  • Experience utilizing MD Staff Software

Compensation range for the Payor Credentialing Specialist role is $21.00 to $28.50 per hour. Ranges are based upon market expectations and are dependent upon candidate experience.
