Inside Sales And Business Operations Manager

Aspen Daily News is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven Inside Sales & Business Operations Manager to support the core commercial and operational functions of the newspaper.

This role sits at the heart of the organization. You’ll serve as a key internal partner to leadership, a primary point of contact for advertising agencies and select clients, and a trusted steward of sensitive and high-impact interactions — from advertising support to obituary services.

• Serve as a primary liaison for leading advertising agencies and key clients
• Support and manage a portfolio of established house advertising accounts
• Ensure timely, professional, and accurate communication with advertisers
• Manage digital ad clerking and reporting for web-based advertising campaigns

• Manage weekly deposits and oversee monthly invoicing and client statements
• Monitor billing accuracy and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized, reliable systems that support clean and transparent financial operations

• Handle obituary sales with empathy, discretion, and professionalism
• Support families during sensitive moments with clarity, kindness, and care

• Support day-to-day operational workflows that keep the business running smoothly
• Help organize and maintain the newspaper’s historical archives and business records

• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail
• Clear, thoughtful communicator — both written and verbal
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience in sales support, billing, operations, or media environments preferred
• Strong customer-service mindset, particularly in emotionally sensitive situations
• Proficiency with digital systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

• $30,000 base salary + 5% commission on a robust portfolio of established house accounts
• Health insurance and paid time off
• 401(k) with employer match (3% up to $500)
• Optional employer-financed ski pass
