Instrumentation & Electrical Technician

Install, repair and maintain production equipment, buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Installs, sets up and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment as directed and assists others with electrical equipment.
  • Diagnoses problems and employs proper procedures for troubleshooting using knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Uses rigging when necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Determines when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
  • Uses knowledge of mechanical drawings, sketches, and electrical schematics along with the necessary tools of the trade.
  • Works with others in the performance of both mechanical and electrical duties.
  • Cooperates with the Production department at all times.
  • Possesses knowledge of 🚩 arc and gas welding and cutting equipment, power tools (drill press, cut‑off saw, portable power tools), hand tools of the mechanical and electrical trades, and hoisting equipment.
  • Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
  • Fills out records as required.
  • Directs the activitiesbindung of another when assigned.
  • Possesses the necessary tools of the trade.
  • Trains inexperienced employees on the job as required.
  • Works in teams with others in Engineering & Reliability (E & R) at Production.
  • Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed.
  • Keeps E & R equipment and working area clean and orderly.
  • Operates mobile and hoisting equipment in E & R work.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. It operates within JM Eagle guidelines and policies and follows directives supplied by a supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Electrical and mechanical experience; complete capability to read and make mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Good knowledge of electrical codes.
  • Five or more years of experience in maintenance repairs.
  • Some computer experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective verbal communication before groups צ’ customers or employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages appetised area, circumference and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands
  • Sight: distinguish proper product identification and warning/operational indicators.
  • Hearing: distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.
  • Balance: maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching in all areas.
  • Verbal communication: face‑to‑face or telephone with other employees to accomplish job requirements.
  • Visual quality assessment: confirm the quality level of raw materials and products to determine acceptance or denial.
  • accident lifting: lift 26–50 pounds and carry it up to 30 feet.
  • Passage: walk through, under and around equipment with a clearance of 30 inches.
  • Use of telephone, computer, and calculator.
  • Sensing: feel objects such as textures, size, shape and temperature through fingertips.
  • Office utensil use: grasp and use safely to avoid injury.
Work Environment
  • Subject to extreme cold (below 32°F for more than one hour).
  • Subject to extreme heat (above 100°F for more than one hour).
  • Noise: requires raising voice to be heard above the noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to fluctuating Coconut position of the body.
  • Hazards: moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, chemicals, gases, high heat, explosives.
  • Atmospheric conditions: odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, dusts, oils and cutting fluids.
