Overview
The Skid Steer Operator is responsible for operating the Skid Steer to complete various asphalt and paving jobs. Also assisting the team with any tasks needed.
EssentialJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment
- Maintain daily vehicle logs and keep equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle
- Load and unload equipment or materials
- Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job-site
- Perform general labor duties when necessary
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of related equipment to be operated
- Must have 3 years previous experience
- Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check
- Be willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
- 2-5 years experience as skid steer operator or any related job in a construction or mining industry
- This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, and the ability to read printed materials, signs and directions
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, and position oneself around the required work area safely
- Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines
- The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme heat and cold temperatures
- While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses or other airborne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris
