Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

As EHS Specialist, you design, manage, and audit all environmental, health, and safety programs within Anton Paar USA. This position reports to the Director of Advanced Technical Services and is based at the US Headquarters in Ashland, VA.

The wage for this position is $36/hour to $40.85/hour and depends on related experience. Anton Paar USA offers full benefits and a profit sharing contribution to your 401k retirement savings. We offer a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years plus additional bonus opportunities.

Anton Paar USA is a for-profit sales and service organization in the Anton Paar Group, privately owned by the charitable Santner Foundation with its headquarters in Graz, Austria.

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs
• Manage the customer sample lifecycle
• Conduct laboratory safety inspections and safety audits
• Manage spill response procedures, coordinate emergency preparedness training for laboratory incidents, and manage fire drills
• Maintain the Safety Manual and related documentation.
• Manage workplace and vehicle accident reporting, coordination with insurance carriers, and manage customer compliance websites.

• Bachelor 0s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of health and safety or laboratory safety experience in a chemical, analytical, or instrumentation environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing chemical hygiene programs and regulatory compliance.
• Experience conducting hazard assessments and implementing control measures for flammable and toxic chemicals.
