Job Summary

The Primary responsibility of an Asphalt Raker is to rake and spread asphalt, base, dirt or other materials to the proper grade and finish in parking lots, roads and driveways with appropriate usage of a lute rake. Assist with the installation of new asphalt surfaces. Assist with the repair of existing asphalt surfaces.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Distributes asphaltic materials by raking, smoothing and adjusting surface irregularities.
  • Restores surface finish, spreads asphalt to proper grade and finishes before compaction.
  • Matches and finishes freshly made asphalt paving joints evenly.
Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check.
  • Previous work experience in construction or related as an asphalt laborer or flagger.
  • Knowledge of road and traffic regulations.
  • Previous related experience of 3-5 years needed in the construction field and/or training.
