Parts Loader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure items are scanned by reading prompts after each scan - looking for error messages.

Sorts and stores items into proper locations by run numbers on labels.

Will run reports to see what needs to be shipped for current ship date.

Report throughout shift to dept. Supervisor if wrong product found during scanning onto truck.

Looks for obvious errors while loading-such as no inspection Stamp or wrong item in box.

Estimates cube of truck during loading of parts (must be able to estimate space to leave between drops while laying parts out on trucks.

Keep work area clean and organized, including daily floor sweeping to keep floors and work area clean.

Will use a scanner to scan parts that will be loaded onto the trucks to ship.

Use company procedures to resolve problems.

Assists team and shipping supervisors as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Basic knowledge of how to read label on product- must pay close attention to detail on label.

Must be team oriented, interactive, and possess strong communication skills.

Must have knowledge of how to read truck reports for loading purposes.

Ability to stay-on-task, follow safety guidelines and work process procedures.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have loading knowledge and know how to properly stack trailers to the ceiling.

Must be a self-starter who works well under pressure and can follow a list of daily work assignments.

Use of a computer and printer to run and print reports.

Knowledge of how to use a scan gun to scan parts.

Possesses a willingness to learn new ways to enhance productivity.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or 1yr of equivalent experience.

Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timely completion of tasks.

Frequently required to bend; lift; stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Frequently required to lift 30-60 pound boxes overhead. Occasionally required lift overhead and/or move boxes that weigh a minimum of 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
