Transportation Technician 1 - PN - Capital Programs

What you will do:

• Primarily scope culvert and drainage projects.
• Scope other projects such as lighting, pruning, guardrail, and geotechnical.
• Conduct project field reviews as part of the scoping process.
• Create preliminary cost estimates and project schedules during scoping.
• Run scope meetings and coordinate scope sign-off and delivery.
• Review ADA curb ramp replacement needs and estimates for project scoping.
• Oversee annual tree cutting contract.
• Program projects and adjust funding and project schedules in Ellis (ODOT’s project management software).

5 years engineering related technical experience in simple construction/rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.

• Or completion of associate degree program in engineering technology; 3 years engineering related technical experience in simple construction/rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.
• Or 12 months exp. as Transportation Technical Specialist, 85871, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.
• Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
