Director of Nursing Opportunity
Oak Plains Academy is a highly structured residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 7–17, located on 20 acres of rolling hills about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee. The campus features a full‑size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories, providing an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities.
ResponsibilitiesOrganize and administer the facility’s nursing services, including establishing goals, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adequate numbers and qualifications of staff are available to perform nursing services. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the Infection Control program for the facility, including developing policies, establishing surveillance and criteria, collecting data, and implementing educational measures as needed. Must be familiar with legal and ethical aspects of health care services and maintain a good working relationship with other departments.

- At least 5 years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in a hospital, residential treatment center, or acute care hospital
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Tennessee
- Minimum Associate of Science in Nursing;
Master of Science in Nursing preferred - Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
