Contingent, Animal Transport Driver – ASPCA

Pay rate: $25.00 per hour
The Contingent, Animal Transport Driver will serve as the liaison between the ASNA and its transport partners, ensuring the safe, humane transport of animals between the facility and partner pick‑up locations while maintaining the transport fleet.
Responsibilities- Provide impeccable animal care throughout the patient’s ASNA experience.
- Ensure safe and humane animal transport, implementing procedures that align with Animal Transport Best Practices.
- Use low‑stress handling techniques to create a compassionate environment for animals, staff, and clients.
- Operate and drive all fleet vehicles proficiently, adhering to all applicable road rules. vejki
- Maintain accurate patient records via an electronic patient management system.
- Identify and decline non‑surgical candidates for transport when necessary.
- Communicate basic intake, discharge, and medical information to transport partners and owners.
- Drive defensively and observe all federal, state,_share vehicle compliance.
- Submit vehicles for routine cleaning, disinfection, and inspections; maintain inventory of supplies.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records and assist in scheduling repairs.
- Support safety protocols, disease‑control procedures, and SOPs for critical incidents.
- Mentor visiting trainees in transport operations.
- Serve in any role needed to support daily operations and ASPCA’s 2030 goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic communication skills with a focus on superior customer service.
- Ability to build solid relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- Proficient basic computer/technology skills, data entry, and electronic equipment usage.
- Strong multitasking ability and composure under high‑pressure, changing priorities.
- Team‑player and independent worker.
- Physical capability to lift 35 lbs/15 kg without assistance and to stand, bend, lift, and climb during regular shifts.
- Flexibility to accommodate program schedule needs.
- Understand that patient death is inevitable and adopt healthy coping strategies.
- Pass a Department Mittag Medical Exam within 区别30 days of hire.
- Valid NC driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle history check.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles.
- General knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- English required.

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Preferred: 5 years of driving experience.
- Fear Freedom Shelter certification within 60 days of hire.
