The Opportunity

The Internal Engineering team serves the entire organization by delivering programmatic, data‑driven solutions to business problems. The team is comprised of SQL and VBA engineers that support both the needs of the business as well as patient‑facing web property needs, building and maintaining scalable, reliable SQL‑based applications and logic. We focus on operational efficiency, high‑impact problem solving, and business value. We’re looking for a mid‑level VBA Developer with strong experience in Microsoft Access, working knowledge of VBA, familiarity with SQL and some exposure to C#.

This role focuses on maintaining and evolving business‑critical tools, improving reliability and maintainability, and contributing positively to team culture.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain VBA‑driven applications, primarily in Microsoft Access
  • Modify and extend existing systems with a focus on stability, clarity, and maintainability
  • Write readable, well‑structured VBA code with appropriate error handling and documentation
  • Collaborate with SQL developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and edge cases
  • Read, understand and interface with SQL data
  • Contribute to incremental refactoring and technical debt reduction
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with a learning mindset
  • Use C# when appropriate for supporting tools, integrations, or modernization efforts
  • Identify risks, limitations, or unclear requirements early and communicate them clearly
  • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation for code and business logic.

  • Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality
  • Other job duties as assigned in support of key operational and engineering initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Solid, hands‑on experience with VBA
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • Forms, reports, queries, modules
  • Comfortable reading and modifying existing codebases
  • Basic to intermediate experience with C#
  • Enough to understand, extend, and troubleshoot existing logic
  • Exposure to .NET patterns or Windows‑based applications
  • Familiarity with SQL concepts (joins, filtering, aggregations)
  • Experience debugging production issues and supporting business users
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Experience working on cross‑departmental projects requiring significant business insight.
  • Interest in or experience with full‑stack development, including frontend frameworks (i.e., React, Next.js), and backend services (RESTful API development).
  • Exposure to API design principles and service‑oriented architecture.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git or similar)
  • Experience manipulating complex datasets or supporting analytic workflows.
