POSITION SUMMARY – LMSW Intake Social Worker

• Works with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of emergency room and psychiatry providers to provide high quality, patient-centered care.
• Performs psychiatric assessments and first evaluations for involuntary commitment (IVC) both in-person and via telehealth.
• Collaborates with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to determine level of care and coordinates treatment/discharge plans after evaluation.
• Serves as a resource to the broader care team by assisting with de-escalation in crisis situations, guiding them through the IVC process, and providing information about inpatient hospitalization and community resources.
• Float between sister facilities.

• NC LMSW
• BLS
• 2 years recent intake social work experience in an acute behavioral health setting
• NC First Examiner
• NC Notary Public
