DOCK & DOOR TECHNICIAN – DoD SKILLBRIDGE (16 WEEKS) | Lift One (Weisiger Group) | Greenville, South Carolina

Roleoverview (Skill Bridge trainee)
As a Dock & Door Technician Skill Bridge trainee, you’ll train with experienced technicians to learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain loading dock equipment and commercial doors
. This opportunity is ideal for service members who enjoy hands-on work, troubleshooting, and customer interaction.
- Diagnose and repair dock equipment and commercial doors
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Document work and communicate with customers using a work order system (Service Max or similar)
- Maintain tools/parts inventory and service readiness (as assigned)
- Represent Lift One professionally with a safety-first mindset
- Weeks 1–2: Orientation, safety/OSHA, PPE, dock/door system overview
- Weeks 3–4: Mechanical/hydraulic/electrical foundations, tools, schematics, work orders
- Weeks 5–6: Preventative maintenance, inspections, documentation standards
- Weeks 7–8: Diagnostics & troubleshooting (hands-on supervised repairs)
- Weeks 9–10: Repairs & installations + welding fundamentals/cert prep
- Weeks 11–12: Advanced diagnostics + OEM/factory modules (as available)
- Weeks 13–14: Increasing independence in the field (with oversight)
- Weeks 15–16: Final evaluation + transition planning to full-time role
- DoD Skill Bridge eligible (command-approved)
- Mechanical aptitude + maintenance experience (military or civilian)
- Comfortable working independently in the field after training progression
- Valid driver’s license; able to travel locally to customer sites
- Safety-first mindset and strong customer service professionalism
Helpful experience: hydraulics, electrical, engines/diagnostics, fabrication/welding, HVAC, construction, automotive/diesel, or work order systems.
Compensation / benefitsSkill Bridge: Unpaid internship (service member remains on active-duty pay/benefits).
