SENIOR HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC/ SERVICE TECHNICIAN (Diesel Systems)

Location: Asheville, NC

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our high-performing team. In this role, you’ll work on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems across skid steers, excavators, and other heavy equipment. If you have strong diagnostic skills and a passion for tackling complex repairs, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a supportive shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and theory-based repairs
  • Conduct service and maintenance on skid steers, excavators, and other heavy equipment
  • Handle a full range of repairs, from preventative maintenance to major system overhauls
  • Support team operations in a smaller but well-staffed shop environment

Required Qualifications:

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in heavy equipment or diesel service (skid steers, excavators, etc.)
  • Proven diagnostics, electrical, and theory expertise
  • Ability to complete all types of repairs independently
  • Heavy equipment background preferred, but strong truck shop diagnostics experience will be considered
  • Familiarity with hydraulics is a plus, but not required
