Overview

Description and purpose:
Is God calling you to ministry? The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) proclaims the Gospel through its ministries. Employees may work at headquarters in Charlotte, NC; the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC; BGTC in Asheville, NC; BRB in Asheville, NC; or a field office abroad. Employees are part of a team of committed Christians working to reach people with the Gospel.

All employees proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their employment, and thereby further BGEA’s religious mission.

Department detail:
The Food Services Department maintains the standard of Servant Hospitality and food service  is responsible for the overall preparation, service, and presentation of food for any event at The Cove.

Job summary:

The Dining Room Server is responsible for caring for guests during meals served in the dining room and other locations as needed.

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
• Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
• Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
• Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

• Assists with dining room preparations and setup
• Helps to maintain cleanliness and neatness in the dining room and hostess stations
• Serves guests courteously and efficiently

• Other duties as assigned by Food Services Supervisor

• Ability to communicate well one-on-one and in group settings
• Commitment to hospitality and excellence
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Willingness to take initiative and be a proactive problem solver
• Ability to analyze and make decisions based on BGTC protocols
• Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
• Ensures a clean and neat uniformed appearance while working

• Ability to move easily and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
• Extended daily, evening and weekend hours may be required

Continuing the lifelong work of Billy Graham, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministry of Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us and by equipping the church and others to do the same.

Core beliefs that form the foundation of all ministry endeavors:

• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God revealing the love of God to the world.
• We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and personal return in power and glory.
• We believe that all people are lost and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, with repentance and faith resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ as His body, the church.
• We believe in evangelism and discipleship as responsibilities of all followers of Jesus Christ.
• We believe God’s plan for humanity includes sexuality expressed only within marriage between a man and a woman; marriage is the union of one genetic male and one genetic female.
• We believe in prayer, service to the Lord, obedience to His authority, and the ministry of evangelism.
• We believe human life is sacred from conception to natural end.
• We believe God creates each person male or female and that gender is part of God’s design.

• I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and a representative of Him.
• I understand BGEA is a Christian organization proclaiming the Gospel worldwide.
• I agree that my employment supports BGEA’s Christian purpose and mission.
• I will exhibit conduct consistent with BGEA’s faith, policies, and Christian conduct, at work and away.
• BGEA may take corrective action up to termination if conduct is inconsistent with its purpose.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is a faith-based religious organization committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. A prerequisite for employment is affirmation and adherence to our Statement of Faith, in line with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Associate or Seasonal employees may work up to 19 hours a week (not to exceed 1000 hours per year) and are not eligible for benefits.
