Job Description:

The starting pay range begins at $16.32/hour and is based on qualifications and experience. Flex: an average of 20-29 hours per week  hours/year).

• Greet and escort guests to tables, assist in seating, ensuring Biltmore standards of service.
• Maintain flow of seating by section throughout service period.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintain cleanliness.
• Answer the telephone, take reservations, and maintain reservation scheduling online.
• Monitor guests’ needs throughout all phases of the operation.
• Assist servers and dining room attendants with table set‑up to ensure optimum service.
• Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel.
• Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently.
• Take, record, and confirm reservations and cancellations.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and maintain positive relations.
• Extend courteous departures and invite guests to return.

6:00am - 3:00pm. Weekend availability required.

• Previous customer/guest service experience strongly preferred; ideal candidates have experience in an upscale full‑service restaurant.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to world‑class guest service and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to think clearly and quickly in a fast‑paced environment; exercise good judgment and maintain composure in pressure situations.
• Familiarity with reservations software, knowledge of Open Table helpful.
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and credit transactions as needed.
• Proactive initiative where appropriate.
• Professional image and demeanor, handling guest situations consistently with Biltmore standards.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Endure various physical movements (stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead) throughout the shift.
• Remain ambulatory or stationary throughout the shift.
• Exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals.
• Work indoors and outdoors in variable temperature conditions and noise levels.

• Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests, regardless of busyness or time of day.
• Escort guests to tables and assist in seating; present menus and extend congenialities per department guidelines.
• Maintain optimal flow of seating by section to best serve guests.
